Meet The Residents of Zooville...

Each resident here at Zooville has their own unique personality and job to do in an effort to keep our family strong. I would like to introduce you to everyone at this time.

First we have Kila Cat

Her name short for Tequila, I'll explain later! She is a black and white domestic cat. She and I have been roommates for 10+ years and I can't tell you how many catfights she and I have been in, but I will tell you she won them all until we took a trip to the vet and had her declawed. I can now say my arms never looked better. Kila's job around the house is to make sure we all have a sense of Paranoia. Therefore, her official title is "Head of Paranoia".

During the day she can be found hiding in a closet, hanging out in the laundry room or pretty much anywhere she feels no one can find her. At night is when she roams around the house freely until she senses she's not the only one awake, then she hisses, slaps, bites and screams like there's no tomorrow and we soon realize we can wait till morning for a drink of water. I think she is really mentally challenged. Is there such a thing as Kitty Therapy?

Now Introducing - Itty Bitty Kitty

Itty Bitty is a 5 year old loving lap kitty. She resembles a little tiger with her gray stripes. She loves laying on her back and getting her tummy rubbed. She is definitely a Mommy's girl, she follows me around the house like my shadow and doesn't want any of the other residents near me. Which can cause problems on occasion.

Her job around the house is to instigate trouble while still looking innocent. Her job title, "The Instigator". And believe me she keeps the Head of Paranoia on her toes.

This is, Honda

Honda has been with us for a little over a year now. She is a 6 years old pekingese. She came to us when her previous family's home burned down. Or, that was what we were told at the time. Honda is a sweet dog most of the time, she does have a few of her own issues she is dealing with. One major issue is that she thinks she is a big dog! She doesn't realize that she weighs 10 pounds and is only ankle high.

Her job description here is to cruise around the house and make sure everything is going her way. That is why her job title is, "The Bully" That is unless it is storming outside and then she becomes the biggest baby in the house. I have to make sure she takes her anxiety medicine or she can't function properly. Talk about high maintentance!!!!

Here's OLLIE!

Ollie B is a two year old Congo African Grey Parrot and boy does he have a vocabulary. I truly miss those quite days at home. It seems that he likes to compete with the Dr. Phil show. I haven't seen Dr. Phil uninterrupted in about a year now. He can mimic anything. I have gone to answer the phone and realized I should have answered the bird because he was ringing not the phone. Speaking of the phone, it is so hard for us to talk on the phone to anyone because the bird is carrying on the same conversation to himself. You say "hello", he says "hello", you say "ok bye" he says "ok bye" I have my own Echo Machine. Be warned, don't even try to gossip in my house, because you can't trust the bird. He tells it all.

Ollie has two fulltime jobs here at the house. As you can tell he talks alot and is tons of fun to be around so his job title is "The Entertainer and The Messmaker" I vacuum around his cage at least twice a day.

Now, on to the Human Residents...

First up we have Ethan aka "Spiderman"

Ethan is my 4 year old step-son. He lives in Texas with his mom and step-dad and visits us several times a year. We had him here in July for his 4th birthday and as you can probably tell by the photo, the party theme was Spiderman. I've been in his life since he was 10 months old and he is an amazing little boy.

He and I have both experienced some learning curves since we met each other. I learned you don't potty train little boys the same as little girls. The arrangement of the plumbing is all different. You don't sit them on the potty and then sit in the floor in front of them and say, "Go tee tee" because when they do, you get wet! Anyway, Ethan has a job here too and his job title is "The Question Man" I don't know who talks more... Ethan or the bird?

My Daughter, Kristin

What can I say... she's beautiful, spirited and my social butterfly. She was once a resident here in Zooville, but has now moved. She has residents of her own too, a black cat named Batman and a chihuahua named Margarita. I think she had a job while she lived at Zooville, the problem was she didn't show up for work on time. She loves to sleep in and stay up all night, somewhat like Kila Cat. Her job title was "Day Sleeper and part time Food Critic".

Meet my husband, Chad

My husband is a very dedicated and hard working man, even with his crazy hours at work, he still finds the time to help me with all of the other residents. He is very generous and would give the shirt off his back for pretty much anyone. I think his major goal in life is to make sure that his son and I are taken good care of.

He can be found on his day off trying to find something to do, even if its things I don't think he should be doing, like making the bed, washing his own clothes, cleaning the kitchen. But that is who he is... With that said, his job title around the house is..... "Assistant to the Zookeeper and part time Litter Box Specialist." Wow, no wonder he only sleeps 4 hours a night. He probably wouldn't sleep that long if the Head of Paranoia wasn't roaming the house at night.

and this is me...

I like to entertain guests at the house and try to keep all of the residents socialized (yes, even Kila - Ms Paranoia). I know what you are thinking... what has she got in her hands? Well after reading all of this you should understand why I smoke and drink.... After all, my job title is the "Zookeeper". It's not easy being me!
