Sibling Rivalry

Well it's Officially A Family Feud....

Ahhhh, Sisterly Love! I heard on the news this morning out of the mouth of an Alabama State Official that "Georgia just can't keep all of their water for themselves, they need to share us and Florida". He also stated that people in Alabama would lose their jobs if Georgia didn't give them water. Poor baby, what do you think with happen to the people in Georgia if they don't have enough water! Loss of jobs is nothing, what about a death toll?

I know Alabama and Florida have their problems as well, but can't we all just get along. Isn't that what family does during a crisis, they pull their resources and become supportive of one another, not run to daddy (President Bush) and be a crybaby and whiner saying, Georgia has some water and won't share with us! :( Geez Louise, lets get it together y'all. I'm sure the friendly sister, the State of Texas would share with us if she could, we all know she has plenty of water.

If all else fails, we could not bathe for a few days and then all travel to Alabama and hang out in the City Officials office for a few hours and let him get a whiff of us!

Yeah, that's the ticket!!!!!!

Wishful Thinking...

Clouds Over GeorgiaWe had some really good rain clouds hovering over our house a couple of days ago and I thought for sure we would get a good downpour, WRONG! It just blew on by. We are told that we are in drought crisis, the worst drought in the history of Georgia. Our lakes are drying up faster than you can blink an eye and our grass has become crunchy when you step on it.

The buzz from all of the local news stations say we have only about four months of water left for human consumption. Well I say, stop sending water to Florida for those dang endangered mussels. I'm not even sure I know what a mussel is? Or if I even spelled mussel right, for that matter. Then the story on the news continued to get even better, they may have to restrict our indoor use too! Hmmm, does that mean no more long soaks in the bathtub with the water up to my neck? I'm sure my husband would be very happy if we had to start taking showers together!

Next thing they will be telling us is that we can't use the dishwasher or the washing machine. Ok, I have a solution for that.... we eat off of paper plates and we all get to go shopping for new clean clothes. Is the boss going to give us all raises at work to cover the additional shopping expenses? NOT! I guess Central Georgia has now become the new Southern California, since it never rains in either place... I just wish that if I had to have a dark cloud over my head, it would at least dump some water on me!

Visitors Traveling thru the Southeast

Hurricane Humberto...

Humberto was a little depressed by the time he visited us here in Georgia last week, but we were very glad to see him. He even brought us a present, he said it was called "rain". We all thought it was the best gift in the world. It smelled good too! He didn't stay for long, said he was just passing through. We told him we really missed Ingrid and we can only hope to see Jerry soon.

The Arrival of Fall

We had another visitor yesterday, the son of Old Man Winter... his name is "Fall". He brought us presents too, one was cooler weather and the other was a nice breeze. Boy, we were happy to have him around. Unfortunately, he said he could only stay a couple of days. But he did promise to come back and he even told us that his dad was sure to visit sometime down the road. I told him to make sure his dad brought gifts too and all I asked for was a little snow. He said he would see what he could do about it. Come back soon, I pleaded!
