Thank Goodness Christmas is Over!

I thought it would never end... Wal-Mart started putting out Christmas decorations somewhere around Halloween. Geez, why do they do it so early?

Anyway, I'm looking forward to the new year and can't wait to say goodbye to 2008. It was a tough year for everyone.

I look around my neighborhood and see all the empty houses that used to be a place to call home for so many families and I wonder why bad things happen to good people. Could it be to make people appreciative of the things they have or just to see how they cope under stress? Maybe it is to bring them closer to their family and become more dependant upon each other. Kinda like our grandparents did so many years ago, I just don't know!

Having a new year starting in just a few days can bring hope to us all. A new chance to better ourselves by committing to follow those New Year Resolutions with a brand new set of twelve months to make it happen.

I plan on making more than one resolution this New Years Eve. Maybe, just maybe, I will be able to follow through with at least one of them. I tend to get bored easily, so I figure making more than one will give me a variety of resolutions to chose from on any given day.

So, with that being said, I think I just committed to my first resolution:

Don't get bored so easy, girl!

Yeah, I'm A Day Late....

But I want to tell a couple of ladies that I am thankful to have them in my life!

First, my Sister... She is my best friend and confidant. She and I are nine years apart in age, but she eventually caught up with me mentally. We may of had a rough time growing up, but she means much more to me than I think she realizes. What doesn't kill us, makes us stronger right?

She has taught me many things, like family is more important than anything else on earth, you can count on family to be their for you when you need them, she loves me unconditionally and provides so much support to me when things are tough.

Lisa, I am so thankful to have you in my life... adoption? Well that word doesn't mean a thing to me, you will always and forever be my sister. I am thankful that God sent you to me, otherwise I would feel so alone in this big world. Thank you for being my go to girl, I love you!

P.S. I can't wait for our road trip next month, don't forget to pack your laughter and depends, both items are mandatory! *wink wink*

Secondly, my Mother In Law... what a woman, she has raised six children of her own and still has a great sense of humor. I have only known her for 4 1/2 years, but she has become a mom to me. My mom passed in 1989 and I never dreamed that I would have someone come into my life and be there for me like a mom would be. She guides, but she doesn't judge.

She has given me a lot of insight about moms, kids, and husbands and I just want to say thank you. You are a blessing to me and you make me want to make you proud. I have someone I cherish to look up to once again. I honestly enjoy each and every phone call we have, you make me laugh at my mistakes and not be so hard on myself. I love you MOM!

I hope every one of my friends and family had a great "Thanksgiving" day too! And I hope each and everyone of you realize how thankful you are to have people that you love, love you too!

Guess What?

I've figured out my future life and exactly how I want it to be. Yep, in my next life should I have one...

I want to be some "old" ladies lap cat!

You heard me right, I want nothing more but to come back next time as a indoor house kitty.

I don't know for sure if their will be another life here on Earth after this one, but if so, I want to be an old ladies lap kitty. She doesn't have to have the best house on the block or a ton of money, she just needs to love having me around. I will promise to be there for her when she needs me, but I won't be a kitty that bugs her.

I promise to sleep with her at night and make her feel loved too! I want to lay on the carpet and sun bathe and only talk when spoken to. I wouldn't mind having a ball of yarn to play with and some catnip every now and then to help me feel silly and make her laugh.

I won't fuss if she doesn't get around to cleaning my litter box everyday and I will make sure not to jump on her kitchen counters while she is around. I'll understand when she needs me to walk by and rub against her legs to show my appreciation.

I will also be a good helper around the house. If she is at her computer, I'll jump right up on the desk to help her navigate her mouse. I've learned alot in this life about doing laundry, so I can help with that too! I'll just lay in the basket of clean towels and keep them warm, that way they won't wrinkle before she has a chance to fold them.

I'll even use the lessons I've learned in this life about being independent, I know she will like that. I'll sit on the window sill and watch her drive away and then run to the front door when she returns to greet her. I think I could be a good listener for her on those days she needs to complain about things.

So, that is what I want to do should I find myself back on Earth some day, that is after this life is fully completed of course.

As you all know, I am the proud momma of two house kitties, one is extremely nice and the other not so much. But I have learned alot from my cats and I really like the life they lead.

So, there you have it! I just want the life of a cat. It's plain and simple.
